Engine And Chief's Run Village Of Solvay Apartment Fire

8/11/22 at 15:20 hours this afternoon, Taunton was activated for a possible apartment fire in the Solvay Fire District. Initial callers reported that the upstairs apartment was on fire. Taunton Engine 94 (LT. Taylor), which was staffed in quarters, handled the alarm with Car 1 (Chief Phelan) and Car 3 (Chief Hess). Solvay Chiefs arrived on scene with nothing showing, then upgraded the alarm to a working fire as heavy smoke and fire made themselves evident from the 2nd story apartment. Engine 94’s crew arrived 2nd due, assisting in fire suppression and making primary searches on the 2nd and 1st floors. The fire was out within 5 minutes of fire department arrival. Engine 94’s crew operated on scene just shy of an hour before returning to service.
